These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the HEWN Studio website (thehewnstudio.com) and any purchases made from HEWN Studio. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

HEWN Studio LLC is a Missouri limited liability company. We create handcrafted wood products, including custom mantels and pre-made inventory pieces.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site means you accept any updated Terms.

2. Handmade Nature of Our Products

All our products are handmade from real wood. Each piece is unique and will vary in:

  • Grain
  • Color and tone
  • Knots, checking, mineral streaks
  • Texture and surface character

These natural variations are normal and are not considered defects. Photos and renderings are examples only and cannot perfectly represent the final piece.

3. 3D Visualizations (If Applicable)

Any 3D design or visualization tools on our site are for planning purposes only and are not photo-realistic. Final products will vary in appearance, grain, color, and character due to the natural nature of wood and the handcrafted process.

4. Orders & Production

  • Orders are accepted once payment is processed.
  • Production timelines shown on the site are estimates, not guarantees.
  • Expedited timelines are also estimates; if an expedited order exceeds the stated timeframe, we will refund the expedited fee only.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any order and issue a full refund if necessary.

5. Custom Orders & Final Sale

Custom and made-to-order items are final sale once production begins.

Production is considered started when materials are ordered or work has begun.

Cancellations must be requested within 24 hours of ordering. After production begins, cancellations cannot be accepted.

Pre-made inventory items may be eligible for return per our Return Policy.

6. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are in USD
  • Payment is required in full before production
  • Payments are processed securely via Stripe
  • Prices at checkout are final
  • Taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout

7. Shipping & Delivery

We arrange shipping through third-party carriers or personal delivery when applicable. Shipping timelines are estimates and not guaranteed.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing an accurate delivery address
  • Ensuring access for large deliveries
  • Being available to receive delivery
  • Inspecting items upon arrival

If an item arrives damaged, accept delivery, take photos, and contact [email protected] promptly per our Return Policy.

We are not responsible for carrier delays.

8. Installation

Installation is not included unless stated otherwise.

You are responsible for proper installation and compliance with local codes.

We are not liable for installation errors or resulting damage.

9. Returns & Refunds

Natural wood variations are not considered defects.

10. Warranty Disclaimer

All products are sold “as is.”

We do not provide warranties of any kind. Wood is a natural material and will continue to move and age over time.

11. Intellectual Property

All website content, designs, images, and branding belong to HEWN Studio LLC and may not be used without written permission.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the product in question.

13. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our control (weather, carrier delays, material shortages, equipment failure, etc.).

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any disputes will be handled in Missouri courts.
